Poll: If a man appeared on your doorstep with the proper equipment...?
If he does indeed have a flux capacitor AND a babble-fish I would feel obligated to let the man do his job.

Reply:What land? You mean, of course, the land south of the border. If he was crazy enough to go down there. But he'd have to be either deranged, diseased, carrying equipment to kill all kinds of horrible infestations or an incredibly cute shemale.
Reply:After he had answered a few questions: what is the purpose of the survey? Who is the party interested in his findings? What sort of survey? Structural, soil, geological? He may even be looking for evidence of oil.


A letter heading or document bearing his photo and details of his institute; bearing in mind he may be a qualified land surveyor but not a member of RICS. (if UK)


He may not always be touting the proverbial theodolite, as this is only for recording the land level.
