Math problem?

Jose surveyed 20 of his friends to find out what equipment they use to play recorded movies. He found out that 12 of his friends have only DVD players, 5 have both DVD players and VCRs, and 2 have neither type of player. The rest of his friends only have VCRs. What is the total number of his friends that have VCRs?

Math problem?
6

Because 12 have DVD players so scratch them. 5 have BOTH of them (which includes a VCR), and 2 have neither so scratch them. All together that is 19 friends and then the rest of his friends (1 friend) has a VCR player. Now 5+1=6
Reply:total: 20

DVD only: 12

DVD and VCR: 5

Neither: 2

VCR only: 1

total VCR only: 6
